Discover the experiences

The Aosta Valley: land of castles

Since ancient times, the Aosta Valley has been an obligatory passageway to the Alpine passes. In the Middle Ages, it was easy to take possession of land outside populated areas, rise to the rank of lord, and collect tolls. This led to the establishment of the first fortified settlements, and over time, castles, towers, and fortified houses became a distinctive feature of the Aosta Valley landscape.

Museums of the Aosta Valley

Different exhibition itineraries for different learning experiences. They acquire, study, and preserve tangible and intangible evidence of the territory, its history, and its people: art and archaeology, science and natural history, arts and popular traditions.

Signs of the Roman era

Five centuries of Roman rule left impressive marks on the Aosta Valley: the road to Gaul, of which numerous traces remain; the Pondel aqueduct bridge; and above all Aosta, the imperial city gateway to the Alps, whose Roman urban layout is still clearly identifiable in its main lines, city walls, and most significant buildings.

Skiing in style

In Valle d’Aosta, among the giants of the Alps, Mont Blanc, Gran Paradiso, Monte Rosa, and the Matterhorn, skiing is a special experience. In one week, you can experience new slopes and itineraries every day, which take you from Valle d’Aosta to France and Switzerland without taking off your skis. Unleash your desire for snow in Valle d’Aosta!
